Mark and I were just discussing this very topic. When choreographing or teaching dance I use the word energy (sparkle, pizazz, motivation as synonyms?) and I’m not sure it can be taught. Some kids dance/perform with their entire body and especially the eyes. Some may get the steps but have no energy or motivation. It’s an interesting topic for discussion.
